Nello and Mary, mid-bleat

It’s a slow day at the winery, so on my lunch break I decide to finish up some app testing.

Enter Nello: “Hay”

“Hey”

Nello frowns.

I look up: “Oh, you mean h-a-y hay. You already got hay this morning”

I return to the computer.

“Are you selling wine?”

I stop. Sigh. Ever since Nello has been able to equate that selling wine = hay he’s become obsessed with the topic.

“No, I’m working on my apps”

“Apps?”

“A-a-a-a-ps?” Says Mary, who joins Nello. She’s still working on her Sheeplish.

“Yes, I’m releasing 2 apps this week and there’s a lot to do”

“What do apps do?”

“A-a-a-a-ps?”

I can now see working is not on the lunch menu.

“Well, they hopefully help wineries sell more wine.”

“Oh good. Are we using them?”

“G-o-o-o-d”

“Hopefully, but that’s up to Alexia.”

“Why wouldn’t she. They sell wine!”

“W-i-i-i-ne”

I look down at the floor, once again regretting our conversation about wine and hay.

“I have to convince her that they’ll help sell more wine first.”

“Convinc…wait, you just said they sell wine?”

“W-i-i-i-ne”

“I said, ‘hopefully’”

“Hope…fully?! Well, I’m hopefully going to get more hay today”

“H-a-a-a-y!”

I sneer: “Not likely!”

“Precisely my point.”

With that, Nello sticks his nose in the air and marches off.

Mary pauses: “H-a-a-a-y?”

“Not you either, Mary…and work on your Sheeplish.”

She sulks off behind Nello: “B-a-a-a-h!”

I sigh. Hopefully, selling apps to wineries is a bit easier.
